YOUTH PROGRAMS
The Kingsbridge Heights Community Center Youth Department's mission is to provide a continuum of youth development services that incorporates leadership opportunities, academic enhancements, social skills-building, and cultural awareness. We accomplish this by drawing on the strengths of the community, involving families, and partnering with schools and businesses around a shared vision for youth participants.

Teen Center & Tween Program

Teen Center is an evening based program offering social, recreational, and educational opportunities to neighborhood teens during the school year and summer. Whether participants attend discussion groups, play basketball in the gym, become involved in leadership initiatives, relax in the youth lounge, or listen to music in the computer room, the program offers a safe environment that supports young people's needs and develops their interests.

Tween Program is an afternoon program offered during the school year for middle school aged youth designed to smooth the transition between our on-site after school program, and services for teens at KHCC. Tweens are introduced to activities offered in the Teen Center and College Directions Programs in the context of a small structured group of their peers. Some young people attend both Teen Center and Tween Program daily.

Fees…$40 monthly payment for Tween Program, one time $20 registration fee for Teen Center

 

Hours…3:00 -6:00 pm Monday-Friday

5:00 -9:00 pm Mon.-Thursday, 5:00 pm-8:00 pm Friday - later hours for trips and events

(Teen Center)
