As of March 20, KHCC is providing emergency food to families in need. For food assistance, reach out to khcconnect@khcc-nyc.org. All other services are remote. All families and participants are beginning remote learning, wellness checks and engagement as of March 23rd. Please see the information below for further details.

Urgent Child Care Access

Starting on Mon., 3/23, the DOE will open Regional Enrichment Centers (RECs) from 7:30am - 6:00pm, Mon - Fri, to provide options as you fight on the front lines against the spread of COVID-19. Food and Emergency Needs

KHCConnect is available for phone and video consultation on emergency services only. No in-person services will be provided until further notice.

Food Access

As of March 16, all families can visit their nearest NYC DOE school to pick up grab-and-go breakfast starting at 7:30 AM and lunch starting at 11:30AM. Families can find their nearest school by visiting https://www.nycenet.edu/schoolsearch or calling 311.

RSS-Riverdale Senior Services is giving out grab-and-go meals for seniors to pick up at the Center. If there are seniors in need of lunch or other services please let us know so we can help. Contact mschustack@rssny.org<mailto:mschustack@rssny.org> or call 718.884.5900

Local Food Pantry Resource

The City of New York is providing assistance to New Yorkers during the COVID-19 crisis by delivering meals to those who cannot access food themselves. Find more information HERE!

Mental Health and Trauma Supportive Services

The Changing Futures team is available for online therapy sessions for individuals currently enrolled in the program. No in-person services will be provided until further notice.

Remote Learning & Engagement

Early Learn: Three and Four year old classrooms closed for next two weeks and we will reassess at that time. Programs will communicate regularly with enrolled families and program staff to share information and perform wellness checks, as directed by the DOE and DOHMH.

Remote work with children and families will begin on March 23rd.

During our building’s closure period, KHCC continues to ensure that facilities are maintained in a state of readiness and are safe for our community’s return by performing ongoing disinfection of the facility and ongoing routine maintenance. 

KHCC will re-open according to any timeline set by the DOE or other City agency.
