A Light for All: The Beacon on the Heights

On Thursday, June 14th, we will celebrate the center as a resource for the community in our annual gala at the New York Botanical Garden. This year we will present the Bernice Stern Award for Outstanding Community Service, to honor an outstanding woman for her civic or philanthropic contributions. The first recipient of this award is Truda Cleeves Jewett.

Thank you, Horace Mann!

Thanks to Horace Mann and all of our neighbors who participated in this year's Neighborhood Festival. It was a great success with outstanding performances by many youth, with singing, a dance contest, Bollywood dancing, music, and a play. We had a very moving closing ceremony to thank Horace Mann for the murals, plantings, and other improvements they created here.
