Bronx Theatre After School Programs 23-24
KHCC's unique partnership with Bronx Theatre High School on the nearby JFK campus brings the best of Teen Center and College Directions to school. Operating on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-6pm, KHCC staff partner with Bronx Theatre staff and teachers to provide a blend of youth development and college access offerings. KHCC staff also provide support during the school days via non-academic periods, advising, and lunch. Activities include:
COMPASS High:
Youth Council and Peer Mediation Training; Lean on Me Support Groups and Individual Counseling; Media Arts and Poetry Workshops; Mentoring Initiative and Paid Internship
COMPASS Explore:
College Workshops and Trips; SAT Preparation; 1:1 College Advising; College Bridge Services for graduating seniors
Both Programs:
Daily snack and refreshments; Homework help and academic support; Recreational trips and events at KHCC
