Kingsbridge Heights Community Center Honors Council Member Pierina Sanchez and Apple Bank Chief Retail Bank Officer James Matera at Annual Gala on May 3, 2023
The annual gala celebrated 49 years of transforming the lives of families in the Northwest Bronx
New York, NY - Nonprofit settlement house, Kingsbridge Heights Community Center raised more than $180,000 at its annual gala held on May 3rd, 2023, at Versa, Canopy Rooftop. The event, "The Future is Ours," honored New York City Council Member, Pierina Ana Sanchez as the Bronx Borough Campaigner, for her unwavering commitment to serve residents of the Bronx, and Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Bank Officer of Apple Bank, Jim Matera as Community Champion for his outstanding leadership and community engagement. “The Future is Ours” was hosted by Spectrum News NY1’s Anchor and Criminal Justice Reporter Dean Meminger.
KHCC Chair Lisa Lindvall and KHCC CEO Raye Barbieri welcomed a crowd of more than 150 people to the event that celebrated 49 years of success in transforming the lives of children and families from the Northwest Bronx by providing cradle-to-career support. The Future is Ours also featured a musical performance by students from KHCC’s Youth program.

Funds raised from "The Future is Ours" fundraiser event will support the community members of Kingsbridge.
