BRONX, NY – On October 2, 2021, Kingsbridge Heights Community Center (KHCC) will be hosting an event; Together We Are New York- Art Lives, a community-based celebration of artistic works. The event, scheduled for 11 am to 2 pm will celebrate the mural reveal of NYC - Together We Rise by artist Base (@basebxclusiveink) and culminate the digital documentary of this work by Anaselies Rodriguez (@anaselies to be released). The event will also partner with New York City Artist Corps including a short film, I Tried to Write a Love Letter with My Body by Priyanka Das, an exhibit, The Tibbetts Estuary Tapestry by Ana De La Cueva and Matthew López-Jensen, Book Making: Creating Art in the Time of Grief and Loss with Valerie Deas, and KHCC Garden Volunteering.

"In celebration of the citywide Together, We Are New York campaign, Kingsbridge Heights Community Center is proud to join the community art project. As part of our artwork, we will fuse the vision of two long-time community members who give a special gaze to corners, faces, and nuances that often go overlooked. Beauty from within. We love how they show and celebrate all of us. We cannot wait to flex the pride of the Bronx," said Margaret Della, Executive Director of the Kingsbridge Heights Community Center.

Together, We Are New York - Arts Live is a highly anticipated 3-hour event bringing together people from all across New York City, as the City is moving toward reopening, coming back together in community, and healing as one City. ABNY Together, We Are New York gives us an opportunity to celebrate our resiliency and display civic pride and the cultural diversity of New York City and its neighborhoods.

Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to purchase KHCC Honey, learn about Covid-19 vaccination, voter registration, volunteer and job opportunities at KHCC, and get Empanadas by Claudy's Kitchen (@ClaudysKitchN). The event will also include raffles to win an exclusive painting by artist Base and gift cards worth $200. Music by Morsy (@morsymusic).
